The District A Fund Presents Check to the South Wilkes Barre Girls Softball

During the opening day event at the South Wilkes Barre Girls Softball facility on Willow Street, the District A Fund of the Luzerne Foundation announced the completion of their fifth project in South Wilkes-Barre. The District A Fund Committee was on hand to dedicate four new masonry dugouts.

The South Wilkes Barre Girls Softball League were the recipients of a $7,800.00 donation from the Fund. The donation was used by the League for the masonry work for the new dugouts.

Project Description:  The South Wilkes Barre Girls Softball League facility is located on Willow Street and Gordon Ave in South Wilkes Barre.  The league has contacted the District A Fund and requested support to assist in the reconstruction of dugouts at the facility.

The proposed project consists of the removal of existing wood dugouts and replacing with new concrete block structures.

Reason: Improve the safety and appearance of facility.

Scope of Work:  Replace existing wood dugouts with new concrete block dugouts.

Goal: To upgrade the South Wilkes Barre Girls Softball Field to provide for the safety of the players. To provide funds for the purchase of materials to build new concrete block dugouts. To improve the the facility in a way that reflects a more positive image on our community for visiting teams and fans.
